Week 3
The jug filter retires.

For so long I've wanted to have a water filter on my tap. I don't have to constantly fill up the water filter jug anymore, I can just simply turn the notch on the tap and instantly have filtered water! The Tapp filter is so easy to install and use. Not only does it look sleek, but the water tastes pure!

Month 1
The bottled-water habit dies.

Before getting the TAPP filter my husband and I would only drink bottled water as we hated the taste of the water from our tap. Now with the filter all we drink is the water from the tap as the taste is great. No more spending money on bottled water and no more consuming microplastics.

Chlorine is the taste. Remove it and tap water tastes like it should — like nothing at all.

Thirsty is the worst time to wait. No slow drip through a cartridge, no finding the jug empty, no warm jug water — turn the tap, drink.

"Game changer for me to drink more due to convenience and the quality is exceptional. The filter jug I had in my fridge was always empty, now I don't have to worry (and there is more room in the fridge), best purchase I've made all year."

Forever Fresh · Lifetime Warranty

The last filter you'll ever buy.

A lifetime warranty for everyone who keeps their cartridges coming — here it is in plain words.

Here's our deal.

Everything you use every day eventually wears out — your shoes, your brake pads, your phone battery. A tap filter gets used more than almost anything in your kitchen: the valve alone gets flicked many times a day. And no filter is immune — ours included. The difference is whose problem that is. With most brands it's yours: one worn-out part and you're shopping for a whole new system.

Not ours.

You will never pay for filter hardware again.

Buy your year of cartridges — on subscription, or grab the pack yourself each year, we don't mind — and the hardware is ours to keep perfect, for life. A valve that's done ten thousand flicks? A new tap that needs a different adapter? The right part is in the post, free, from Sydney. No receipts, no claim forms — order it from your account page the same way you'd order anything else.

Trying it out first? The usual Australian consumer guarantees apply, like with anything you buy — and the day you start your first year of cartridges, the lifetime promise starts with it.

Keep the cartridges coming, and you'll never buy this filter twice.

Questions

Common questions.

Will it fit my tap?
+
Adapters are included free and cover 95% of Australian taps — kitchen mixers, gooseneck taps, basin mixers, pillar taps, laundry taps and more. Doesn't fit pull-out spray taps, sensor taps, or flat square spouts with no aerator ring. Not sure? Send us a photo to hello@tappwater.com.au — we'll confirm before you order and send the right adapter free.
Can I switch between filtered and unfiltered water?
+
Yes — there's a built-in diverter lever. Flick up for filtered drinking water, down for full-pressure unfiltered. No unscrewing required. This means you get full flow for washing dishes without filtering water you don't need to drink, which extends cartridge life.
⚠  Can I use it with hot or boiling water?
+
No — the EcoPro is cold water only. Hot or boiling water damages the filter media and can cause bacterial growth. Always switch to lever-down (bypass) mode before running warm water. This is standard for all activated carbon tap filters, not just ours.
How does the filtration actually work?
+
Five stages in every EcoPro cartridge. Stage 1: polypropylene mesh captures sediment. Stage 2: carbon block physically blocks particles larger than 1–2 microns — microplastics, rust, bacteria. Stage 3: activated carbon adsorbs chlorine, PFAS, pesticides and pharmaceuticals. Stage 4: polyphosphates stop limescale forming, while minerals stay in the water. Stage 5: metallic mesh as the final barrier. The SMR adds Stage 6 — Swedish Mineral Rock™ — which adds calcium, magnesium and potassium back in.
What's the difference between the Compact and the SMR?
+
Same 5-stage filtration core. Same lab results. Same contaminant removal. The SMR adds a 6th stage — Swedish Mineral Rock™ — that puts calcium, magnesium, and potassium back into your filtered water. The SMR cartridge also lasts 3 months vs 2 for the Compact. Clean water: get the Compact. Filtered and remineralised: get the SMR.
How often do I replace the cartridge?
+
Compact: every 2 months or 220L. SMR: every 3 months or 1,200L. Replace on schedule — don't wait for a taste change. An exhausted cartridge still flows but stops filtering, and there's a risk of bacterial growth after the rated lifespan. Annual Pack gives you all refills upfront so you never have to think about it.
Does it reduce fluoride?
+
70% fluoride reduction — most carbon filters remove 0%. We publish the honest number alongside the 98% chlorine result. We won't overclaim. For >99% fluoride removal, look at our RO Countertop.
Does it remove chlorine taste and smell?
+
Yes. 98% chlorine removal — the chlorine taste and smell go with it. This is often the first thing people notice, usually from the first glass.
Will it slow my tap pressure?
+
In filtered mode there's a slight flow reduction — normal for any filter (water takes longer to pass through media). In unfiltered mode (lever down) your tap runs at full pressure. Works on most Australian mains water. Minimum pressure required: 5 psi (0.35 bar).
What do I do with old cartridges?
+
Separate the carbon block from the plastic housing. The carbon block goes to organic/green waste (or crush it into soil — it aerates and retains water). The plastic housing goes to recycling. For a second life: dry the carbon block, put it in a sock, and use it as a natural odour absorber for a fridge, drawer, or car.
I'm a renter. Can I use this?
+
Designed for it. Screws onto your existing tap aerator in 60 seconds. No drilling, no plumber, no damage to the property. Take it with you when you move — and let us know if the new tap needs a different adapter. We'll send it free.
What if it doesn't fit or I'm not happy?
+
60-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. If it doesn't fit your tap and we can't supply an adapter, we'll refund you in full. If you're unsure before buying, send us a photo — we'd rather tell you it won't work than take your money.
What is the filter housing made of?
+
High-grade, BPA-free ABS — the same food-safe material used in Breville coffee machines, dental equipment, and medical devices. It won't corrode in constant contact with water, weighs just 180g (so it doesn't stress your tap thread), and twists open by hand every time for easy cartridge swaps. And when any part eventually wears, we replace it free under the Forever Fresh Guarantee — for life, while you keep your cartridges coming. Adapters covered too.
