Independently tested by Equinox Labs and Laboratorio Echevarne. Where carbon filters reach their limit, the RO membrane physically excludes what's too small for any other home tech.
"Water tastes super clean as well. Definitely one of those things you don't realise you needed until you have it."
Find your reason for filtered water.
Different people, different concerns. Click the one that fits — we'll show you exactly how the Countertop RO solves it.
PFAS — "forever chemicals" — are now detected in drinking water across every Australian state. They bioaccumulate, don't break down, and are linked to cancer, hormone disruption, and immune suppression. Most home filters can't meaningfully reduce them.
The Tappwater RO physically blocks PFAS at the membrane — 0.0001 micron pores, smaller than any PFAS compound. Independently lab-tested at 99% removal across PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, PFNA, PFBS by Laboratorio Echevarne (Barcelona), spiked above typical Australian tap-water levels as a stress test.
Fluoride ions are tiny — too small for activated carbon to adsorb. That's why standard tap filters reach close to 0% on fluoride, and why most filter brands quietly avoid the topic. The only home filtration technology that physically removes fluoride is reverse osmosis.
Independently lab-tested at >99% reduction by Laboratorio Echevarne. For context: our EcoPro Compact tap filter reaches 70% — an honest result and the best we know of in the carbon-block category — but the only filter that gets you fluoride-free is RO.
Microplastics are now found in 95% of bottled water samples — and in tap water across every Australian capital. The smallest known particles are around 1 micron; even nano-scale fragments sit well above the RO pore size.
The RO membrane has pores 0.0001 microns wide — 10,000× smaller than the smallest microplastic. Physical exclusion at the molecular level, not adsorption. Nothing larger than a water molecule (and the calcium, magnesium and potassium we re-add in Stage 7) makes it into your glass.
One press, one temperature, exactly right. The 45°C preset dispenses at the paediatrician-recommended formula-mixing temperature — no kettle to boil, no waiting for it to cool, no guessing whether it's safe.
The water itself: 100% of bacteria, 100% of lead and mercury, and >99% of fluoride and PFAS removed. Then Stage 7 — Swedish Mineral Rock™ — adds calcium, magnesium and potassium back. The minerals babies actually need, none of the contaminants you wouldn't give them on purpose.
The RO Countertop doesn't just filter — it dispenses purified water at six exact temperatures: room temp, 45°C for baby formula, 70°C for green tea, 85°C for instant coffee, 95°C for filter coffee, and near-boiling. One press. Auto-stop at your chosen volume.
No more filling a kettle. No more boiling and waiting for it to cool. No more limescale, because the water entering the heater is already purified — your kettle never has to fight scale again, because the kettle is gone. And since you're replacing the kettle, you're not adding to your electricity bill — you're moving it from one appliance to another.
Chlorine and dissolved minerals fight the bean's flavour — which is why specialty cafés filter with reverse osmosis before the water ever reaches the espresso machine. Same beans, same machine, different cup.
Tea drinkers get the same upgrade, plus the right temperature without a thermometer: 70°C for green tea so it never stews bitter, 95°C for filter coffee and black tea — each one press of a preset.
Sits on your benchtop. Plugs into a standard power point. No connection to your tap, no under-sink work, no drilling, no landlord call required. If you can use a kettle, you can use this.
And when you move? Unplug, take it with you. No leaving thousands of dollars of plumbing behind, and no rebuilding it in the next place. Same lab-grade filtration as an under-sink RO unit — without the install bill, without the permanence.
A household drinking 2L of water a day spends around $1,560/year on bottled water at typical Australian supermarket prices. The Tappwater RO runs at $199.99/year in refills — saving you roughly $1,440 every year. The unit pays for itself inside 8 months.
No bottles to lug from the supermarket, no recycling pile-ups, no plastic ending up where it shouldn't. And the irony: lab data on bottled water (microplastics, BPA traces, mineral concentration) often looks worse than the tap water it replaced. RO water is cleaner than what comes in a plastic bottle — for a fraction of the price.

Very easy to install dan I love how easy to get filtered hot water or room temperature water on one appliance.
Honestly, the hot water feature is a game changer. I haven't used my kettle since I got it. I can choose anything from room temp to boiling hot for my tea. Even my kids are drinking more water now that it's filtered and ready whenever they want it.
Even the kids are obsessed with it and use it all the time, which says a lot. We've had guests comment on it too, everyone thinks it's such a cool feature! Water tastes super clean as well. Definitely one of those things you don't realise you needed until you have it.
I was looking for a reverse osmosis system to get rid of fluoride and PFAS but everything was super expensive and needed plumbing. Then I found this. It sits on my bench, plugs into a regular power point and works like a dream. So glad I found it.
Why our reverse osmosis filter is more effective than the rest.
Most reverse osmosis systems need a plumber, permanent installation, and drilling into your countertop. They strip everything — including the minerals your body needs. We built ours differently.
No plumbing. No drilling. No landlord.
Most reverse osmosis systems need a plumber and permanent installation under your sink. Ours sits on your countertop and plugs into a power point. Unbox it, fill the tank, and you're drinking purified water in 60 seconds. Renters, apartments, anyone — zero installation.
7 stages vs the usual 3–4
More stages means more contaminants caught. Pre-filters protect the membrane, a scale inhibitor extends its life, post-carbon polishes taste, and the final stage adds minerals back. Nothing slips through. Every stage has a job — and every contaminant has nowhere to hide.
Minerals added back — not stripped out
Most reverse osmosis filters leave you with flat, empty water. Our final stage uses Swedish Mineral Rock to reintroduce calcium, magnesium, and potassium. The result tastes like premium mineral water, not distilled nothing.
Lab tested by 4 independent labs
We publish full lab results — not marketing claims. 99% PFAS removal, >99% fluoride, 100% lead and bacteria. Tested by Equinox Labs and Laboratorio Echevarne. Most reverse osmosis brands won't show you their numbers. We do.
Fill the back tank. The system does the rest.
Two tanks. One system. Zero effort. Fill the rear raw water tank from your tap. The 7-stage filtration system automatically purifies the water and fills the front pure water tank.
- 1 Fill the raw water tank — removable rear tank, fill at the tap or pour in
- 2 7-stage filtration runs automatically — PFAS, fluoride, bacteria, heavy metals removed
- 3 Pure water tank fills up — ready to dispense, store, or serve
Room temp to near-boiling. One button.
Dispense at ambient, warm for baby formula (45–55°C), or near-boiling for tea and coffee (up to 95°C). No kettle required.
Perfect for new parents: No more boiling and cooling water at 3am. Pure, filtered water at exactly the right temperature — instantly.
Set the volume. Walk away.
Choose your preset — 150ml, 300ml, or 1 litre — press the button, and go do something else. The system stops automatically.
Set it and forget it. Fill your water bottle before work. Top up the baby's formula. Pour a litre for dinner — all hands-free.
Serve it. Store it. Drink it straight from the system.
The front pure water tank is completely removable. Take it out to serve at the table, pop it in the fridge for cold water, or simply dispense glasses directly from the system.
- Dispense directly — Fill glasses, bottles, or kettles straight from the system
- Remove & serve — Take the tank to the table — no pouring back and forth
- Store in the fridge — Pure, chilled water whenever you want it
Replace the cartridge in under 30 seconds.
No tools. No plumber. No mess. The all-in-one cartridge slides out and a fresh one clicks in. One cartridge per year — that's the only upkeep.
- Twist and pull — old cartridge slides straight out
- Click the new one in — you'll hear it lock into place
- Once per year — the only maintenance this system needs
Every drop passes through 7 barriers before it reaches your glass.
Most reverse osmosis systems stop at 3–5 stages. Ours doesn't. Six stages remove what others can't — then stage 7 adds back the minerals your body actually needs.
Non-Woven Fabric Pre-Filter
What it does: Catches rust, sediment, sand, and particles down to 5 microns — anything visible to the naked eye.
Why it matters: Australian tap water carries pipe sediment, especially in older homes. Without this stage, those particles would clog the RO membrane in weeks instead of months. It's the bodyguard for everything that comes after.
Activated Carbon Fibre
What it does: Adsorbs chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), pesticides, and chemical taste/odour from the water.
Why it matters: Chlorine is added to Australian water to kill bacteria in the pipes — but you don't want to drink it. This stage removes that pool-water taste and smell, and catches chemicals that carbon block filters in basic jugs can't reach.
Scale Inhibitor
What it does: Prevents calcium and magnesium from crystallising and forming limescale deposits inside the system.
Why it matters: Hard water areas (most of Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth) destroy RO membranes fast. This stage keeps the membrane clean and extends its lifespan — so you're not replacing cartridges every few months.
Secondary Fabric Layer
What it does: Catches any loose carbon particles or fine sediment released by stage 2, ensuring only clean water reaches the membrane.
Why it matters: Carbon dust can damage the RO membrane's microscopic pores. This is the final quality gate before the most critical stage — nothing gets through that shouldn't.
RO Membrane (0.0001 μm)
What it does: Forces water through a semi-permeable membrane with pores 500x smaller than a virus. Removes PFAS (99%), fluoride (>99%), lead (100%), mercury (100%), bacteria (100%), microplastics, nitrates, and arsenic.
Why it matters: This is the stage that no carbon filter, no jug filter, and no basic water filter can replicate. It's the same technology used in kidney dialysis and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Most contaminants are physically too large to pass through — they're flushed away as wastewater.
Post Carbon Fibre Polish
What it does: A final activated carbon pass that catches any remaining traces of taste, odour, or dissolved gases that made it through the membrane.
Why it matters: Even after RO, water can carry a slight flat or stale taste from dissolved CO2. This stage polishes it to a crisp, clean finish — the difference between water that's technically pure and water that actually tastes great.
Swedish Mineral Rock™
What it does: Natural mineral rock that reintroduces calcium, magnesium, and potassium into the purified water. Raises pH to a healthy alkaline level (7.5–8.5).
Why it matters: This is what separates us from every other RO system. Standard RO gives you dead, flat water stripped of everything — including the minerals your body needs. Our Swedish Mineral Rock adds them back naturally, so your water tastes like premium mineral water and actually contributes to your daily mineral intake. No other countertop RO does this.
